City Animals

For the „City Animals“ summer campaign 2027, Zurich’s city centre is transformed into a vibrant, 10-week open-air exhibition. Up to 200 handmade sculptures of native wild animals, created by local artist collectives Laborraum and Pialeto, will populate public squares, shops, and hotel lobbies, raising awareness of urban biodiversity.

Commissioned by City Vereinigung Zürich, the campaign’s visual identity and design system were developed at evoq communications AG. As Lead Designer, I was responsible for translating the concept into a coherent visual system across print, digital and physical touchpoints.

QR codes and information panels on each sculpture guide visitors to an interactive platform developed in collaboration with StadtWildTiere, where they can explore engaging content about urban wildlife. The campaign combines large-scale public installations with digital storytelling, creating an accessible and playful experience that connects public space, education and biodiversity.
